The reddish object is actually exhaust gases off the engine just prior to engine shut down. Earth in background.

Nose of target vehicle. The shroud (white part) should have separated. Although a successful mission this objective failed.
Gemini rendezvous with the target vehicle. Agena engine thrust 30,000 lbs. Secondary thrusters were 250 and 25 lbs.

The agena engine nozzle can easily be seen on the left.The silvery object below the agena nozzle is the secondary propulsion module is a small 250 lb nozzle and 2-10,000 psig nitrogen spheres.
