JOB
APPLICATION PROCESS
Not Applicable to
all positions
JRL recruits or provides contract
engineers, designers, technical office personnel, manufacturing and maintenance
personnel for manufacturing and corporate facilities world-wide. In some areas,
JRL employees supplement staff of some other corporation in their manufacturing
and corporate facilities.
The following is the sequence of events
and processes involved to obtain "contract" positions with some corporations.
These are hiring corporation processes as adopted by JRL.
Obtaining contract employment is a 2 Part
process; Part 1 [Eligibility], Part 2 [Application]. Each part involves several
steps.
Part 1 [Eligibility] involves a series of steps to
get a candidate [job applicant] into the corporation's "Eligible (to apply)
Candidate Database." [for corporation not accepting applications directly
from a Candidate. These corporations outsources all contract help through
"approved" Contract Houses such as JRL].
JRL receives "contract
job postings" daily then posts them to the
JRL Web Site for your
consideration. Corporations normally accept about 6 to 12 applications per job
opening. JRL prescreens the Candidates using the their process. Only the
individuals in the corporations "Eligible Candidate Database" are eligible to
apply for their available job openings.
Once in the Database, you are
eligible to apply for any of that corporations job offerings usually posted on
our Jobs page. You do not have to repeat the Part 1 procedure for
a particular corporation. Just tell us to start the application process for the
job desired.
The steps for Part 1 are as follows:
- Contact [e-mail] or phone JRL and
indicate you are interested in a particular position, before or after reviewing
jobs posted on the JRL Web Site).
You do not need to select a position before proceeding with Part
1.
- Once contacted, JRL e-mails the
candidate application forms [as e-mail attachments]. To save time, the
candidate can download the documents from the JRL web site
Jobs Page. The documents
are as follows:
- I. General application information
form.
- II. Candidate professional profile
form.
- III. Candidate Education
form.
- IV. Candidate Skills form.
- V. Candidate Conditional Test
form.
- VI. Candidate Expertise form.
- VII. Suggested Resume Format
- VIII. Registration Employment
Agreement.
- The Candidate fills
out all six [6] forms, adds a resume which includes a S.S.. number and e-mails
the 6 forms resume and Employment Agreement to JRL.
- JRL reviews the forms for content and
telephones or return "e-mails" the Candidate if necessary.
- JRL uploads the forms, resume, and
any other pertinent information to the applicable Eligible Candidate Database.
Part 2 [APPLICATION]
is a series of steps that may or may not lead to a successful job hire for
a specific position.
- The Candidate reviews available jobs
which can be accessed from the JRL web site
JOBS PAGE. Once a
job selection is made, the candidate e-mails JRL the Job Number(s) selected.
[Note: The pay rate shown on the web site job
listing is not negotiable. Notifying JRL to proceed with an application for the
position means you accept the pay rate shown for the position advertised.]
- JRL submits the candidates
application [Forms & added information, etc.] for the job number selected
to hiring Corporation Application Database.
- The hiring corporation assesses the
application. They advise JRL to proceed with the next step or they will reject
the application for that specific job. [This does not mean you will not be
considered for other positions. It only means that the hiring staff did not
select for 'that' position].
- If the hiring corporation authorisize
JRL to proceed, JRL usually arranges a 3-way telephone interview.
- If, based on the interview, they want
to hire, they inform JRL to proceed with the next step.
- JRL finalizes the pay rate details and
asks the candidate to sign a release form for drug testing and background
checks.
- The candidate signs and submits the
release forms to JRL who will make the drug test arrangements. At this time,
JRL also notifies a 'Background Check Agency' to begin your background
check.
- The Candidate [you] appears at the
scheduled time and location for the drug test procedure which generally
involves the agency taking hair samples. The testing procedures and report
usually take about about a week.
- If the test and background check
results are satisfactory, a start [report] date is established.
- JRL proceeds with hiring protocols and
presents a confirmation letter to the successful candidate [you].
Note: JRL pays the
testing and background check expenses.
Quite a Procedure!
